The company was founded in 2010 by Saar Yogev and Naomi Levari out of their love for the art of filmmaking after years of proven experience in the local film & TV industry. Black Sheep specializes in feature films, creative documentaries and drama series that direct a spotlight on the unseen and unheard voices of society. With a strong belief in reciprocity, the company has formed strong relationships with its international partners and has successfully executed both co-productions and service productions. Black Sheep personally approaches each endeavor and its makers based on the belief that each project has a unique life course and specific needs. With its handpicked projects, the company forges working relationships from the earliest stages of development, believing that the importance of this close personal connection with and between the filmmakers is paramount. Most importantly, Black Sheep believes that the journey should be joyful. Naomi Levari x Naomi Levari Naomi Levari graduated Sam Spiegel Film School with highest honors. Draft, her diploma film, which she wrote and directed, was a huge international success, participating in over 50 festivals and winning six awards. Naomi began her career on sets first as a 2nd Camera assistant and later as an AD., Naomi moved on to direct TV pieces and continued to the editorial departments of prime-time shows. When she fell in love with Saar she also fell in love with producing as it combines all her previously gained knowledge in a profound and magical way. In addition to running the company, Naomi is a sought- after script consultant, guest lecturer and pitching trainer in Israeli and international platforms. During 2014 & 2015, Naomi acted as part of the selction committees of the Israel Film Fund and Sam Spiegel International Film Lab – Jerusalem. Saar Yogev x Saar Yogev After graduating film studies in Tel Aviv University, Saar started his career as a supervising producer at JCS studios, responsible for numerous productions simultaneously. He moved on to work independently as a unit production manager in large scale co-productions. In 2005 he was asked to become the Executive Producer of the Jerusalem International FF. In 2006 his first TV series as an independent Producer “Good Tidings” became a prime-time hit. In 2007 he returned to lead the Jerusalem FF. In 2008 he was called back to JCS, this time as managing director of their production division. Between the years 2010-2015 Saar was head of the entrepreneur producers’ track at the Sam Spiegel Film School. Saar is a 2013 EAVE alumni. Alona Refua - Head of Productions x Alona Refua - Head of Productions Alona graduated with honors the Sam Spiegel Film & TV School in the Entrepreneurial Producers Program. During her last year of studying she initiated and produced the series of films “Love Letter to Cinema”, a compilation of 10 shorts directed by Israel’s leading directors. The films were screened in commercial Cinemas before major feature films all over the country and participated in hundreds of festivals around the world including Berlinale, Locarno Sydney, Buenos Aires, Tokyo and many more. In the last couple of years Alona worked as a line producer in many films and projects including the feature film “Apple of My Eyes” directed by Yaron Shani and produced by Black Sheep Film Productions. Maayan Eitan - Production Coordinator x Maayan Eitan - Production Coordinator Grew up in the Negev, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Graduated with a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Creative Writing from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Completed her master’s in Comparative Literature at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her translations and short stories have been published in literary journals in Israel and abroad.
