Itay, a social worker Hanna meets through work, teases her with Holocaust jokes and cynical comments about German history. Hanna doesn’t like the jokes and feels that they have nothing to do with her; she feels that the history belongs only in classrooms. over time, questions about her family’s history arise.
Julia von Heinz
Director, born in Berlin. After finishing her cinematography studies, she worked as an assistant to
Prof. Rosa von Praunheim at the Film & TV University, Berlin. In 2007 she founded Kings & Queens Filmproduktion along with John Quester. Her films as a director won numerous awards around the world including Best German Film, the Bavarian TV Award and the Golden Sparrow Award.
